Flying Doctors Services
For just USD 40 per person for 30 days, you can travel with added peace of mind in the following countries: Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, and Burundi.
Stepped on a snake?
In case of a medical emergency, Flying Doctors provide professional medical advice or immediate evacuation to a hospital in Nairobi, Kenya. If, for example, you are on safari in the famous Maasai Mara National Reserve and suffer an unexpected injury, expert support is only a phone call away.
If you experience an accident while exploring Queen Elizabeth National Park, or a medical condition arises during your adventure in Serengeti National Park, a fully equipped medical flight can be arranged to the nearest airstrip. From there, you will be transferred to a hospital in Nairobi for further care.
Some limitations
Please note that Flying Doctors assess each situation carefully and cover emergency evacuation and medical assistance only. Hospital bills, treatment costs, and visa expenses (if evacuated to Kenya from another country) are not included. This service does not replace comprehensive travel or health insurance, and we strongly recommend having full travel insurance coverage.
For climbers on Mount Kilimanjaro, helicopter evacuations can be arranged in life-threatening situations, with transfer to a hospital in Moshi. Landing altitude depends on weather conditions, terrain, and aircraft weight limits.
Kindly note that climbs on Mount Meru are not covered under the Flying Doctors evacuation service, so proper travel insurance is essential.
