Jema Safaris: Terms and Conditions
These terms and conditions outline the agreement between you (the client) and Jema Safaris (hereinafter referred to as “we,” “us,” or “our”). By booking with us, you agree to be bound by these terms. Please read them carefully before confirming your reservation.
Booking Confirmation
After confirming your booking, you will receive an invoice detailing your itinerary, including the places you will visit and activities planned. This ensures you know what to expect during your safari.
Payment Terms
To secure your reservation, we require a 50% deposit of the total itinerary cost upon confirmation. For airline tickets, full payment is required at the time of booking. The remaining balance is due 65 days prior to your departure date. Bookings made within 65 days of departure require full payment at the time of booking.
Payments can be made via bank transfer.
Cancellation Policy
In the event of cancellation, the following charges apply based on the number of days before departure:
- More than 65 days: Deposit non-refundable
- 50 to 65 days: 50% of the itinerary cost
- 0 to 50 days: 100% of the itinerary cost
Please note that costs related to international flights are non-refundable.
Changes to Itinerary
Should you wish to make changes to your itinerary after confirmation, we will do our best to accommodate your requests based on availability. However, a change fee of $75 per person will apply. Changes cannot be made within 12 weeks of departure and will be treated as a cancellation.
Travel Insurance
It is a condition of booking that you have comprehensive travel and medical insurance covering all aspects of your trip, including medical expenses and repatriation. We recommend obtaining travel insurance from a reputable provider such as Chapka Travel Insurance.
Visas and Passports
It is your responsibility to ensure that all passports and visas are valid for travel in Tanzania. Most nationalities can obtain a tourist visa on arrival for approximately $50 (US citizens: $100). Ensure that your passport has at least six months’ validity beyond your travel dates.
Liability Limitations
Jema Safaris accepts responsibility for ensuring that your holiday is supplied as described prior to departure. However, we cannot accept liability for any services not part of our contract or for any issues arising from activities not organized by us.
We are not liable for any injury, illness, death, loss, or damage resulting from:
- The fault of the affected person or their party members.
- Third-party actions not connected with our services.
- Events beyond our control (force majeure), including natural disasters, civil unrest, or other unforeseen circumstances.
Changes and Cancellations by Jema Safaris
While we strive to avoid changes to confirmed bookings, we reserve the right to make adjustments if necessary. In case of significant changes (e.g., alterations in flight times), you will have the option to accept new arrangements or cancel your holiday with a full refund.
Acceptance of Terms
By making a booking with Jema Safaris, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these terms and conditions and agree to be bound by them.
