Itinerary Details
Your safari begins the moment you land at Kilimanjaro International Airport. A warm Jema Safaris guide will greet you and whisk you away in a private 4x4 safari vehicle. After a brief briefing and refreshments, journey south to Tarangire National Park, a hidden gem known for its ancient baobabs and the largest elephant population in northern Tanzania. As you enter the park, the landscape comes alive with herds of elephants, zebras, giraffes, and the elusive tree-climbing lions.
Overnight at The Castle at Ngorongoro, an elegant retreat tucked in the lush highlands—your perfect place to unwind after a wild day.
After breakfast, your journey continues to the Ndutu region of the southern Serengeti ecosystem. This area is the heart of the Great Migration during calving season. Between January and March, over 500,000 wildebeest calves are born here in just a few weeks—attracting predators and drama in every direction. You'll arrive in time for an afternoon game drive across the golden grasslands dotted with acacia trees.
Overnight at Kon Tiki Ndutu Tented Camp, where you'll fall asleep to the sounds of nature in a luxurious canvas tent under the stars.
Rise early for a full day exploring the Ndutu plains, with picnic breakfast and lunch packed for uninterrupted adventure. This is nature’s theatre at its most intense—newborn calves take their first steps, stalked by lions, cheetahs, and hyenas. Your expert guide will track key wildlife activity, making sure you’re front and center for unforgettable sightings. As dusk settles, return to your serene bush camp.
Overnight again at Kon Tiki Ndutu Tented Camp, where stories are shared by the fire beneath the endless African sky.
This morning, drive toward the famed Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site teeming with wildlife—black rhinos, elephants, lions, flamingos, and more, all set against the backdrop of the crater walls. It’s a photographer’s dream and a true highlight of any Tanzanian safari.
Overnight at The Castle at Ngorongoro, offering comfort, warmth, and panoramic crater rim views.
Start your day with a scenic game drive in Lake Manyara National Park, known for its lush forest, flamingo-lined lake, and legendary tree-climbing lions. Watch for hippos wallowing in the water and monkeys swinging through the fig trees. After a relaxing picnic lunch, drive to Arusha where your journey slows down for your final evening.
Overnight at Arusha Planet Lodge, a peaceful garden lodge nestled beneath Mount Meru.
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and some downtime at the lodge. Depending on your flight schedule, transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport for your onward journey. Or—if you’re not ready to say goodbye just yet—opt for a seamless extension to Zanzibar’s white-sand beaches for rest and rejuvenation after the safari thrill.
