Your adventure begins with a warm Jema Safaris welcome in Arusha. After a short safari briefing, you’ll head off to Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania’s most underrated gems. Known for its vast landscapes dotted with ancient baobab trees and large herds of elephants, Tarangire offers an authentic introduction to the African bush.

In the afternoon, drive onward to the green highlands of Karatu, the perfect base for exploring Ngorongoro.

Today is your Big Five day! Rise early and descend into the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Ngorongoro Crater — the world’s largest unbroken volcanic caldera and one of Africa’s most biodiverse wildlife habitats.
